THE CONNECTED WORKFLOW / FIELD INSPECTIONS
Record the inspection while you’re on site.
For engineers and technicians inspecting physical assets at customer sites. Work through reusable checks, record what you find and keep the evidence with the right asset.

Illustrative Squigg records. All example details are fictional.
Start with the site and asset, not a blank document.
An inspection needs context: whose site you are visiting, which asset you are checking and where it is located. Squigg keeps that structure around the record, so the findings are not left as an unlabelled photo or a note in a separate file.
Choose the asset at the customer’s site, then work through the checks used by your business. The asset reference stays with the recorded inspection and its later history.
- Customer and site context
- Identifiable asset references and locations
- Reusable inspection checks
Keep the outcome, finding and photos together.
Record Pass, Fail or N/A for each check. Add comments and photographs to the relevant check, so a failed outcome has the evidence needed to explain it. Record No Access at asset level when the asset cannot be inspected.
In the fictional electrical example, EL-014 has a damaged enclosure cover. The failed check, finding and two photo records describe the same issue. The engineer can record the remedial item without rebuilding that context in a separate report.
An inspection is the beginning of the record.
A recorded defect may need a later visit. Keep the inspection available alongside remedial work and follow-ups against the same asset. Returning engineers can see what was recorded before instead of starting from scattered messages and old documents.
Completed inspection records also provide the findings, outcomes and evidence for reporting. Squigg supports the recorded-work workflow; it does not advertise automatic scheduling, offline working or specialist certification.
Useful details before you choose.
Can we use checks appropriate to our assets?
The workflow uses reusable checklists around the assets you work on. Your business defines the inspection scope and the checks required; Squigg does not certify that a checklist meets a particular standard.
Are No Access and N/A the same outcome?
No. Pass, Fail and N/A are check outcomes. No Access is recorded against an asset that could not be accessed for inspection.
